This weekend is MegaCon in Orlando, Florida and I’ll be there with my son and some friends! If you’re planning to be there, I hope to get a chance to meet ya 🙂 Although I don’t plan to carry an armload of props, I will be planning to bring a few things just for fun.
Have fun and see you guys there!
Here’s a few photos since last month’s update! More coming soon! 🙂
Better photos to follow, but here’s the Vader helmet done up in brass! It’s a full sized two-part plastic shell, so I’m hoping it might get used for a full steampunk some day.
More photos to follow, I just had to get at least one photo out to share 🙂
Next phase will be SP Boba Fett! Hehe
So last week was a bit of a downer. It rained for about 5 days in a row and really affected my production. So I made up for that today, hehel Here are some photos from what I was able to accomplished with the sun shining. I got a lot moved along in the process and I also think I got too much sun. 🙂
Here’s a few Lanard Rotator X8’s I’m working on again. Both should be done next week for the Orlando Mini Maker’s Faire, time permitting 🙂
Just a quick rundown of a few things that are in the works and also just about done. Thanks for having a look!
So it’s finally done! Whew. I lost track of the time spent on this one, but I couldn’t be happier with how it came out. I borrowed a little DNA from Fallout 3 and Borderlands and then blended them into a steampunk theme that I hope will make you folks happy.
I’ll have more photos of the gun in action soon, but here’s a shot from last night just to give you guys a glimpse of it 🙂
Thank you all sincerely for following this build. It was a blast to get more creative with the add-ons and custom parts. I hope to do more of this in the future 🙂
Johnson Arms Replicas and Props
Hey Guys and Gals! My good friends have a kickstarter project that I think you’ll really going to dig! They’re needing some backing to help make the film and I’d really appreciate you checking it out. Your support, no matter how little, will really help to get this made. This world needs more steampunk and you can make that happen! 🙂
You might even see some of my weaponry in the film, that’s gotta be worth a buck or two, right? Lol
So, in my free time (ha!), I decided to work on a grenade. Seemed logical at the time. I had some plastic grenades left from a project, so I paired them up to LEDs and a bit of epoxy clay. This is the result 🙂 I think it looks pretty cool and I hope you guys enjoy. If anyone’s interested in one or a few, please let me know. I have a lot of other styles to try out, hehe.
These Rotator X8’s from Lanard are really popular right now so it’s giving me a chance to play around with more added bits and pieces. This model is apparently electrically powered, but I’m not sure exactly how it works. Looks ok though, yeah? 🙂
Thanks for the visit and here’s a few photos of stuff you’ll see more of soon!
So here’s a few photos of some of the things getting finished up in preparation for a top-secret project that starts in a few days. It’s going to keep me pretty focused for about a week, but I promise to post anything else that hits the workbench in the meantime. There are a lot of cool things planned, so definitely check back soon for details!
Thanks for visiting and talk to ya later! 🙂
Just wanted to show of the new name plates that Christopher Glas (http://hypercats.net) made for me. They came out awesome and a little paintwork made them blend right in to the longshot 🙂
Added an extended barrel for accuracy, coupled with an early laser heating system to give almost instant steam power. To keep it streamlined, the water reservoir is hidden inside the insulated hand grip.
And it looks cool, even if all that stuff is completely untrue 🙂
Just a smattering of new stuff for the week. There’s more, but these seemed like they would be the ones of interest to most of you folks visiting my site. Vash’s Longcolt is a side-project and will be available when it’s done 🙂
I hear that every so often, so here are a few of the upcoming steampunk revolvers (and a slide-action scout). I hope these will satisfy the folks yearning for more embellishments 🙂
So I had some parts sitting about and I decided to see if I could make a steam tank. This was just a fitting, but it’s looking just the way I envisioned it 🙂 I think it will really be difficult to recognize this as a foam dart gun, when it’s complete. Thanks for having a look and feel free to subscribe for more stuff like this!
Input appreciated, just know its rough and will be cleaned up before a prototype would be made. Thanks!
Just finished up on this maverick tonight (except for cleaning up the base of the grip!) and wanted to see what you guys thought of the colors. Thanks for taking a look and I’ll have the DSLR photos up tomorrow!
This photo was from last night and shows the gun at 99% done 🙂 Yes, there’s always a little more to do, but I figured you guys would like to see what a wooden revolver might look like!
Larger photo and about 400 more here:
Just have to paint the grip and add some bits and pieces and it’s done! I hope the accents will look appropriate when it’s done. 🙂
Doctor Fantastique’s Show of Wonders magazine is just $400 shy of their goal to produce offset-press copies of their January/February 2012 issue. If you’re a fan of Steampunk, have a look and support if you can, thanks!
I wanted to add a little something to the mav, so I made a clay skull from the mold I made a while back. I still have to detail the eyes a bit, they need little pupils. Maybe made of small rubies or Swarovski “diamonds”. Just a little sparkle 🙂
I’m just getting caught up with the holiday rush that’s begun so forgive the slowdown on posts 🙂 I’ve also had the opportunity to work on some projects that I’m not able to share right now, but hopefully I will after the first of the year. It’s pretty cool stuff so I’m bummed to not be able to share right now. I hope these photos will do until I get a chance to edit and upload the other photos still on the memory card! 🙂
Thanks as always for visiting. Please let me know if I can make something for ya!
All the best,
Hey folks! Been on the run this week so in leu of having a full blog update I will be posting photos from the iP4. Sorry for the quality, but I’ll get the DSLR versions up as soon as possible 🙂
Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you have any commission work I can help with. This includes unfinished resin replicas!
All the Best,
