This weekend is MegaCon in Orlando, Florida and I’ll be there with my son and some friends! If you’re planning to be there, I hope to get a chance to meet ya 🙂 Although I don’t plan to carry an armload of props, I will be planning to bring a few things just for fun.
Have fun and see you guys there!
Here’s a few photos since last month’s update! More coming soon! 🙂
Here’s a few photos of a new Nerf Strongarm pistol I’m working on. These are just progress photos, but you’ll hopefully get a feel for where its going, style-wise. 🙂 (the carbon fiber vinyl on the cylinder is temporary for the photo)
This particular model has the full-rollout mod on the cylinder as well as the removal of both air restrictions. It’s become a pretty powerful blaster with those minor changes. Final photos should be up soon and it is available for anyone interested!
So I have been testing paint on foam for some big projects later this year. As a result, I think I have found a good formula to make the these foam weapons “realistic” and pretty durable. Some extended testing will be done, but I feel confident that if you need a cool prop for your convention persona, these should work great.
Email me if you have any interest in placing an order, thanks!
Here’s some photos of the before and after!
Photo time! Thanks for keeping up with these projects I hope they’re up to snuff 🙂 Just keep in mind that many of these are not quite done, so stay tuned for the final photos!
Questions regarding commissions can go here, thank you! email@example.com
I will also be posting some new videos this evening on YouTube. They show the props in this post if you’d like to see more (and hear me rattle on! Heh). A search for “Johnson Arms” on youtube should find my channel!
Better photos to follow, but here’s the Vader helmet done up in brass! It’s a full sized two-part plastic shell, so I’m hoping it might get used for a full steampunk some day.
More photos to follow, I just had to get at least one photo out to share 🙂
Next phase will be SP Boba Fett! Hehe
With all the new Nerf blasters coming out, I thought I better get after a few customs. Let me know what you guys think and any suggested themes 🙂
Here’s the semi-auto Stryfe:
and some Firestrikes ready to get started 🙂 More photos of those soon!
And a few bonus photos of how the Stryfe looks with some extra kit!
Hey folks! Here’s some progress photos from this week’s projects. It’s my weekend with the kids, so sorry there won’t be more of my element prose…oh, you’re ok with that? Well carry on then! Lol
Thanks for the visit and email me if I can be of service! 🙂
So the day has finally come to move into a more proper workspace! Here’s some photos of the chaos and a bit of the stuff I’ve collected over the years, a lot of which I forgot I had, haha.
Now that I have a much higher rent bill, expect to see us making a lot of use of the new room. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, feel free to make a trip over to see it in person! 🙂
Thanks to Tony Pagan, the Carter helmet is complete (He also did the sculpt and casting). This one is spoken for, but let me know if you have a helmet that needs painting or would like to purchase your own competed helmet. Thanks for visiting 🙂
She’s finally finished, folks! As with many of my creations, this was built over a functioning nerf recon body. There are many differences if you go to fine details, but the “look and feel” have been pretty well preserved. I’m not sure anyone has the wallet to build a CNC’ed version of this, but feel free to prove me wrong, lol. I hope you all approve and will look forward to 3.0 when my Dad is ready to tackle another one of these beauties 🙂
Just to give the proper credit to a very talented builder, the images we worked from are of an airsoft replica called “Alice” made by a UK resident named “Joe F” who goes by JoaTrash. His metal version is something to behold and I hope you’ll have a look:
Thanks for the visit!
Brian J 😉
Just a quick photo of the Nerf Vera custom. I just have to cement a few pieces and paint that riser for the scope 🙂
Let me know what you think, I’ll have the final photos done in a day or two!
So we began work on Vera version 2.0 over the weekend. The magazine came out so nice, I had to share with all you Browncoats out there! The front barrel is only there as a place-holder as the custom barrel is fabricated 😉 A huge thanks to Bruce Johnson for the hard work on the custom work. Apparently this stuff does run in the genes, lol
More progress to be posted soon. Email me if you have some interest in owning version 3.0!
If you can dream it, we can make it 🙂
Johnson Arms Replicas and Props
I am sorry for any perceived slowdown in weapon production here at Johnson Arms. Lol The weather has been a real problem as the general high-humidity of southern Florida. All that aside, I have been keeping busy and have a few photos to show from the last week. Much more to come, promise!
All the best,
So I was requested to do a few more of the Finn swords, which I was very happy to do 🙂 This is Sword #2 (I will take better photos soon, I swear!)
Thanks for checking it out and I can be contacted for more at your request 🙂
I had a helmet donated for the purposes of seeing what I could do with a Carter helmet. Here’s the helmet at about 90% (still needs the visor!) – if anyone is curious about my choice of blue..I liked this better than Periwinkle lol
This one is almost done, I just need to add a few more details to finish it up! The custom magazine is a functional with 6 rounds capacity 🙂
For the Emperor!
It’s been a busy week with a lot of rain here in Florida. Not the best combo, but I make the most of the dry time I do have. Here’s a few photos I hope you’ll enjoy until the next big update 🙂
Here’s a couple more ME themed pistols that are wrapping up soon. I just thought they looked cool together and wanted to share. I hope you’ll like the progress. 🙂
Here’s the newest Longcolt for any Trigun Fans out there! I ended up having to use aluminum pipe to support the cylinder. I also threw out the crummy nut and bolt hardware for the frame’s pivot point. It’s all fixed in place now, but it looks a lot better and it’s a hell of a lot more secure for handling 🙂
I’m ready to get after another one if anyone’s interested. Thanks!
So last week was a bit of a downer. It rained for about 5 days in a row and really affected my production. So I made up for that today, hehel Here are some photos from what I was able to accomplished with the sun shining. I got a lot moved along in the process and I also think I got too much sun. 🙂
I managed to get a few photos while the sun was actually shining over the past couple days! That was an accomplishment, let me tell ya!
The stampede is just about done as are a few other projects. I’ll have the good photos up as soon as possible! 🙂
Thanks for visiting!
Here’s some first photos of the Stampede-based Pulse Rifle Chris Glas has been building for me (hypercats.net). I should have it next week to begin the painting. It still functions and I’m hoping to have it looking epic when it’s done. Stay tuned! 🙂
So I was looking around online and saw some really cool shoe designs. I also thought I might be able to do something cool with my painting skills 🙂 This was just a really rough sketch with some highlighter and dry erase markers, but hopefully the idea is there for the panels on the shoe. If you guys have any ideas or suggestions, I’d appreciate it!
