Here’s the progress on the Fett helmet, let me know what you guys think! The color isnt exactly right due to it being a phone photo, but its looks pretty close here in person :)
If you’ve been wanting one for yourself, please let me know at Johnsonarms76@gmail.com
Johnson Arms Replicas and Props
Sorry for the lack of posts, its been a busy couple of months here at Johnson Arms :) I hope you will enjoy the photos as I get back into a normal posting mode, hehe.
Be well and have a great weekend, everyone!
This weekend is MegaCon in Orlando, Florida and I’ll be there with my son and some friends! If you’re planning to be there, I hope to get a chance to meet ya :) Although I don’t plan to carry an armload of props, I will be planning to bring a few things just for fun.
Have fun and see you guys there!
Here’s a few photos since last month’s update! More coming soon! :)
Hi folks! Things are hopping at the shop, here’s some progress photos of the things we’ve been working on for the upcomming convention season. I hope you enjoy the pics! :)
Happy V-Day guys! Here’s a few new photos from the shop! I’m almost done with a huge order, then we’ll have a bunch of new stuff to post and share. Stay tuned and have a great day with your loved ones :)
Here’s a few photos of a new Nerf Strongarm pistol I’m working on. These are just progress photos, but you’ll hopefully get a feel for where its going, style-wise. :) (the carbon fiber vinyl on the cylinder is temporary for the photo)
This particular model has the full-rollout mod on the cylinder as well as the removal of both air restrictions. It’s become a pretty powerful blaster with those minor changes. Final photos should be up soon and it is available for anyone interested!
I’ve had some interest in District 9 props lately, so here’s a few new and old projects to show a few that I’ve worked on. Hope they’re looking good, the rifle will be done soon :)
So I have been testing paint on foam for some big projects later this year. As a result, I think I have found a good formula to make the these foam weapons “realistic” and pretty durable. Some extended testing will be done, but I feel confident that if you need a cool prop for your convention persona, these should work great.
Email me if you have any interest in placing an order, thanks!
Here’s some photos of the before and after!
Photo time! Thanks for keeping up with these projects I hope they’re up to snuff :) Just keep in mind that many of these are not quite done, so stay tuned for the final photos!
Questions regarding commissions can go here, thank you! email@example.com
I will also be posting some new videos this evening on YouTube. They show the props in this post if you’d like to see more (and hear me rattle on! Heh). A search for “Johnson Arms” on youtube should find my channel!
Better photos to follow, but here’s the Vader helmet done up in brass! It’s a full sized two-part plastic shell, so I’m hoping it might get used for a full steampunk some day.
More photos to follow, I just had to get at least one photo out to share :)
Next phase will be SP Boba Fett! Hehe
With all the new Nerf blasters coming out, I thought I better get after a few customs. Let me know what you guys think and any suggested themes :)
Here’s the semi-auto Stryfe:
and some Firestrikes ready to get started :) More photos of those soon!
And a few bonus photos of how the Stryfe looks with some extra kit!
Here’s some progress photos from the past week and there will be more to come soon! :)
Most of these pictures show commissioned pieces, but please let me know if you have any interest in having something made for yourself!
Have a great weekend and thanks for the visit!
The good folks at G33kwatch.com putting on a marathon to benefit the Childs Play charity. It’s a great event with some very cool stuff planned including auctions and giveaways. You might even recognize one of the live auction prizes…hehe.
Check it out at http://masseffectmarathon.com
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!
So I got a few solid resin reach pistols from a guy by the name of Smick6 on The RPF. They’re very nicely done and I hope the paintwork compliments his castings :)
If you need anything customized, let me know! Johnsonarms76@gmail.com
Hey folks! Here’s some progress photos from this week’s projects. It’s my weekend with the kids, so sorry there won’t be more of my element prose…oh, you’re ok with that? Well carry on then! Lol
Thanks for the visit and email me if I can be of service! :)
I call it a pirate pistol and I bet its something else..but it looks legit and that’s what matters, right? :) it’s not the nicest casting ever with a small upsweep in the “barrer packing bar”. I assume it was just bent during a high-seas ship assault, hehe
It is available, email me if you have any interest or think it would make a keen steampunk/sky captain base :) Johnsonarms76@gmail.com
Here’s some progress on a custom P90 commission. The camo design is not a copy of anything specific, it just looked good! :)
So the day has finally come to move into a more proper workspace! Here’s some photos of the chaos and a bit of the stuff I’ve collected over the years, a lot of which I forgot I had, haha.
Now that I have a much higher rent bill, expect to see us making a lot of use of the new room. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, feel free to make a trip over to see it in person! :)
Thanks to Tony Pagan, the Carter helmet is complete (He also did the sculpt and casting). This one is spoken for, but let me know if you have a helmet that needs painting or would like to purchase your own competed helmet. Thanks for visiting :)
I usually don’t get too fanboy when it comes to the props I paint, but that went out the window with this sword. It’s so damn red and shiny, lol. I tried to balance out the realistic/cartoon-y look and I think this was a good balance for the first try. Many thanks to my talented Dad for his time spent building this three foot beast :)
I hope you AT fans will enjoy seeing the photos (yes, I’ll get a proper photo before it leaves!) and maybe we’ll try another one if you have some suggestions on what the next one should be :)
She’s finally finished, folks! As with many of my creations, this was built over a functioning nerf recon body. There are many differences if you go to fine details, but the “look and feel” have been pretty well preserved. I’m not sure anyone has the wallet to build a CNC’ed version of this, but feel free to prove me wrong, lol. I hope you all approve and will look forward to 3.0 when my Dad is ready to tackle another one of these beauties :)
Just to give the proper credit to a very talented builder, the images we worked from are of an airsoft replica called “Alice” made by a UK resident named “Joe F” who goes by JoaTrash. His metal version is something to behold and I hope you’ll have a look:
Thanks for the visit!
Brian J ;)
I was able to get some color on the Demon Blood Sword tonight. Please do not look directly at the sword, its pretty damn bright now :) Thanks for checking out the progress, this will definitely be done by Thursday :)
Just a quick photo of the Nerf Vera custom. I just have to cement a few pieces and paint that riser for the scope :)
Let me know what you think, I’ll have the final photos done in a day or two!
Finn’s Demon Blood Sword (from the cartoon “Adventure Time”) made a lot of progress this week. All the pieces are together and the blade has been sanded into a nice even shape. This will be finished up next week, so check back for final photos. Thanks to my Dad for his fabrication skills! :)
and yes, I can probably do additional copies for any interested parties. My email is Johnsonarms76@gmail.com Thanks!
